The Children & Young People's Conference aims to develop new knowledge, skills and opportunities as well as raise self esteem and aspirations for Children & Young People through participation and volunteering activities.
The conference was organised by a core group of Children and Young People from Bournemouth who planned, facilitated and developed creative activities based on the Every Child Matters outcomes. The conference required support from all services/agencies that have responsibilities for the health and well being of children and young people. The conference delegates were Children and Young People from Bournemouth.
The planning stage for the conference provided an opportunity to identify shared targets and lead to a joined up approach to development and improvement.
The conference was held on 5 November 2009.
The event was promoted through partner stakeholder organisations, services' involvement, Members' involvement and via third sector organisations.
