Bournemouth faces growing competition from neighbouring towns and cities and action is needed to ensure that the town, with its many assets continues to compete as a desirable location in which to live, work or visit. To this end Bournemouth Council has developed The Town Centre Master Vision. The Vision gives a unique opportunity for Bournemouth Council to work alongside developers to coordinate a programme that will bring lasting economic and social regeneration to the town and ensure its long term appeal.
The first stage of formal consultation on the draft Town Centre Master Vision closed on 10 November 2008.
6,200 documents were distributed to a sample of homes, businesses and organisations. The ideas were also discussed with a range of partners. A DVD was produced to explain the Vision and both this and the consultation document were posted on the council’s website. A series of road shows were held enabling the public to ask questions about The Vision.
