Go Green Bournemouth was launched during the Bournemouth and Poole Big Green Fortnight in May 2009. Last year we asked for your help in completing the Go Green Bournemouth Survey so that we could collect your opinions and ideas on how we can improve what we are doing for the environment.
This year we are repeating the survey, to see whether there have been any changes in behaviours and attitudes on this topic amongst residents. If you’re a Bournemouth resident take part in the survey now. All responses must be received by midnight on Wednesday 1 June 2011.
Background
The Go Green Bournemouth Campaign is designed to involve the whole town – residents, community groups, partner organisations, council services and visitors. Its aim is to:
Raise awareness of the predicted weather and climate in 2050 and the opportunities and challenges created by it
Encourage residents and businesses to improve their energy efficiency and reduce their carbon footprints
Raise awareness of practical solutions for more sustainable lifestyles and more sustainable use of our natural resources
Engage people in fun and exciting ways, offering family-friendly activities for residents, local communities and holidaymakers
Show that sustainable living can be easy, healthy, inexpensive and fun
Showcase local green success stories
Promote sustainable travel, such as walking, cycling, public transport, school bus services and car share.
