This consultation leads on from the earlier Bournemouth Plan - Core Strategy Issues & Options consultation in 2009 and Preferred Options consultation in 2010.
These previous periods of public consultation have helped shape the strategy and detailed content of the Bournemouth Plan. This latest stage in the emergence of the Plan differed from previous periods of consultation as its purpose was to allow people and organisations to comment on whether or not the Plan is “sound”. To be sound, the Bournemouth Plan should be justified, effective, consistent and positively prepared.
Following the pre-submission consultation the document will be submitted to the Secretary of State along with the necessary supporting evidence and the representations received. The Secretary of State will then appoint an independent Planning Inspector to take them into account at a public examination.
Representations could be submitted via an online consultation service, downloaded from the council's website or collected from the Town Hall Annexe and Bournemouth libraries.
For further information please contact a member of the Planning Policy Team on 01202 451323 or planning@bournemouth.gov.uk.
