About this Consultation

This year, Bournemouth Borough Council invited residents to take part in an online Budget Consultation. It gave residents the chance to tell the Council about which services are valued most and where spending should be focused.

The feedback received will help to inform any decisions Councillors make about future spending plans.

The format of the consultation involved the user assigning a limited number of points to various services provided by the Council. The more points a service receives, the more important it is considered by the user. However, as there are only a certain number of points available, the user has to make compromises and give priority to the services they feel to be most desirable.

The aim of this consultation was to gain an indication as to which services our residents consider key and where they feel funding should be allocated.

The consultation took place between 12 November and 8 December 2009.

To ensure the widest possible participation there were computers dedicated to the Budget Consultation in every library in Bournemouth, plus the Council’s Customer Services foyer at St. Stephen’s Road.
