What we do

Enables visually impaired people to live active and independent lives within the community and ensures they have access to information suitable for their needs.

Services include Sight and hearing Resource Centre providing equipment, advice and support; an emotional support service with a qualified practitioner; befriending; floating support; daily living kitchen; transcription service; full programme of social activities including lunch, games, concerts, outings and subsidised transport; Tuesday morning Drop In cafe.

Founded in 1911 and independently funded from legacies, donation and own fundraising.

Service Information Service Availability: Social activities or outings Mondays - Thursdays. Resource Centre open 10-12am Monday - Thursday.
Disabled Access: Ramp, disabled toilet.
Facilities: Costs- no membership fee. Other charges vary depending upon the activity or outing.
Capacity: For anyone with severe sight loss living in Bournemouth and the surrounding area.
