The Airport is committed to supporting, in particular, the local economy and to playing a responsible role in sustaining our environment, through the careful management of its impact on surrounding communities. It is also working to promote sustainable development of transport through its Surface Access Strategy which aims to provide alternatives to the private car for journeys to the Airport.

| Contribution to Partnership | The Airport is one of Bournemouth's principal travel interchanges, providing a wide range of scheduled and charter flight opportunities to around 300,000 passengers each year. It is also a major centre of local employment, in itself, and through its fast growing Business Park. |
