| What we do |
The Bournemouth Christians Against Poverty centre provides specialist debt counselling to all members of the local communities, regardless of religious belief. The centre manager (Samantha Oak) visits clients in their homes ensuring that vulnerable, elderly and disabled clients can all access CAP’s face to face service. CAP draws up a sustainable budget for clients, negotiates with creditors to arrange realistic repayments and manages the financial burden. The centre also has a team of voluntary support workers whose role is to provide clients with personal support and encouragement. Ongoing support is provided until clients become debt free. The cycle of debt is broken with financial education, which can then be passed on to future generations ensuring a better future for them.
