| What we do |
We are committed to leading the local community in building a better Bournemouth, today and for our future generations. We will do this by promoting the economic, social and environmental well-being of Bournemouth through our own services and by working closely with other members of the Bournemouth Partnership. There is real support and commitment in the Partnership to achieve the Community Plan for our Town - and we have a leading role to play. We have already revised our own priorities to match those in the Community Plan. These priorities are very important because they influence all our future plans and spending decisions on local services. You can find the details of our priorities and targets in our Best Value Performance Plan click here to see a copy.

| Contribution to Partnership | The Council has an unique role as the Town's elected local authority. All of our services from educating your children to emptying the bins, are guided by the local councillors you elect. They act for you by directing our resources and workforce to provide best value services which meet your needs and the government's requirements. These are just a few of the services we provide: we develop and deliver a wide range of services to support vulnerable children and adults in their own homes or in residential care; we are landlord to more than 15,000 local people and a source of help with accommodation for many more; through our Community Development programme, we work to create safer, more prosperous and better neighbourhoods for all; we are responsible for maintaining local roads and highways, for emptying bins and for keeping our streets, parks, gardens and beaches clean; we are responsible for supporting local schools and for creating learning opportunities for everyone; we run a wide range of sports, l |
