Already we have... 1. Ensured that work by all agencies to protect children from harm is properly co-ordinated and effective – the key goal of the Local Safeguarding Children Board. 2. Provided co-ordinated support to families and children and young people identified as being at risk through the CAF process and team around the child approach. 3. Robust vetting and recruitment of staff. 4. Provided two-day multi-agency safeguarding training, free of charge. 5. Ensured all schools have a designated member of staff and deputy for child protection. All early years settings have a designated safeguarding co-ordinator. 6. Established a joint Bournemouth and Poole LSCB from April 2006 this demonstrates the commitment to partnership working at all levels, both between agencies and across local authority areas. 7. Top ten high risk missing children multi-agency group chaired by DorPol DCI PPU. 8. Extensive child safeguarding training of police officers. 9. Child safeguarding referral unit introduced. (Children’s Strategic Services) 1. Continue to do all of this. 2. Partnership ‘return interviews’ for children missing from home and missing from care to be instigated
