More than 500 private landlords from all over Dorset are expected to attend the Council’s free Landlord Conference this year to gain valuable advice and information on every aspect of letting a property.
The annual event, sponsored by Bournemouth-based lettings and estate agents Northwood Dorset, will take place on Thursday 6 October 2011 at AFC Bournemouth from 11am – 5pm.
Exhibitors will be on hand all day and landlords and prospective landlords are invited to drop in throughout the day to meet with a variety of organisations. There is also the opportunity for landlords to attend seminars with experts offering advice on landlord issues such as fire safety, energy efficiency grants, rent deposit schemes as well as holiday, short-term, long-term and student lets.
Councillor Robert Lawton, Cabinet Member for Housing and Environment, said: “Every year this event becomes more and more popular. I hope that private landlords from across Bournemouth and Dorset whether they’re well established or new to the business, will come and join us on the day.”
He added: “The event is a fantastic opportunity for local landlords to come together to share best practice and keep up to speed with the latest advice on letting a home and in turn improve the standard of rental accommodation for our residents.”
Jane Munden, Sales Director of Northwood UK, said: “We are very excited about being involved with the 2011 Landlord Conference and Exhibition. It will be great to speak to landlords about the current market and their experiences within the private rental sector.”
Landlords are invited to register for the free event online at: www.bournemouth.gov.uk/landlordsconference or call: 01202 451083.
