Bournemouth Place Survey

Tuesday 18 August 2009

The Place Survey was carried out to capture local peoples’ views, experiences and perceptions of Bournemouth.  This is a statutory survey that must be carried out by all local authorities every 2 years.

It is also a way of tracking people’s changing perceptions of their local area, as a way of determining whether interventions result in the right outcomes for local people – ie do people feel happier, healthier, safer?

The Place Survey supplies the data by which a number of national indicators are measured. The national indicators measure how well Governments’ priorities, as set out in the Comprehensive Spending Review, are being delivered by local government and local government partnerships over the next three years.  The Place Survey provides a set of national indicators which are common to all areas.
